Founded in June 1793, the Museum of Natural History is one of the oldest in Paris. It is located on the left bank of the Seine River just a few steps away from Austerlitz bridge. The museum surrounded by a beautiful botanical garden (the main one in France) hosts three galleries: The Gallery of Palaeontology, the Gallery of Comparative Anatomy and the Grand Gallery of Evolution. A little zoo called is also opened to public in the garden..

History
The garden was created by King Louis XIII in 1635 - It was named Royal Medicinal Plant Garden. The Natural History Museum was founded some 160 years later during the French Revolution just a few weeks before Le Louvre on 10 June 1793..
