Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) is the main airport in Paris. It is located 25 km North of city center. Roissy is the second largest airport in Europe just behind London Heathrow. Airport Shuttle is a rather convenient way to get to and from Roissy. However don't expect in Paris to find a desk in the arrival terminal to book your transfer at the very last minute. The journey must be booked in advance. This is the law.

Taxis

Many taxis wait for customers at the exit of each terminal. Taxis use fare meters. The cost for a transfer to Paris is usually about 30 to 50 euros and the duration is 30 minutes. However expect total fare and travel times to be higher during rush-hour times (7am-9am and 4pm-7pm).

Train - Subway

Terminal 2 hosts the TGV (High speed train) railway station. Train are arriving from and leaving to many French cities (Except Paris). Connection to Paris is made by RER B a suburban train serving each terminal. Travel time is about 50 minutes and cost is 8.5 euros one way.

Coach - Bus services

Roissybus and Air France bus are the only two direct coach services operated between Roissy and Paris. However non direct lines are also available. Travel time is about 45 minutes. Fare varies from 7 to 15 euros depending on service.

Airlines and terminals

The airport counts 3 terminals. Terminal 1 is the oldest however a recent rehabilitation has lifted the ambiance and the place is now a lot friendlier for travellers. Terminal 2  is modern, large and clean and really passenger friendly. Terminal 3 is rather basic and is mainly served by small or low cost airlines and charter flights.
